A group of children’s illustrators inspired by a warm up exercise.
One of the greatest things I have found in children’s illustration is support from the other illustrators and writers that create art for children. It is fully proven by this blog post.
Thank you Jennifer E. Morris and Kelly Light!

Those first words that I read by myself are intimately and forever bound to the art that appeared above them. It was as if the art were the doorway and it ushered me toward the words waiting on the other side.

Farewell Maurice Sendak. Your imagination inspired so many…and my childhood was richer for it.

A new blog is getting started. It looks very promising. Created by librarian Elizabeth, she is celebrating great Children’s literature with a special focus on those with Chicken leads. Matt Phelan is her first interviewee with a blue chicken! And check out his handy work for the blog banner.

Well we missed the 2012 Tuscon Festival of Books but, it’s an annual event. I think we should all put it on our calendars for next year. Check out their line up of Authors and Illustrators! Next year we will let you know ahead of the event when it’s happening.
