The beautiful work of  Nathalie Ragondet. Here is a link to her full post for her illustrated work of Grigrigredinmenufretin.
She has done a great job using the verticals and diagonals to draw the eye while creating mood. The limited color palette draws the viewer easily through the progression of images. I am also so glad she included her sketches, I always love seeing the work in it’s looser stage.

A group of children’s illustrators inspired by a warm up exercise.
One of the greatest things I have found in children’s illustration is support from the other illustrators and writers that create art for children. It is fully proven by this blog post.
Thank you Jennifer E. Morris and Kelly Light!

With moving, projects, and other responsibilities, Picture This is going to take a brief hiatus.

We should be back up in July with new posts and more regular posting.

-From your friendly Picture This contributors.

Those first words that I read by myself are intimately and forever bound to the art that appeared above them. It was as if the art were the doorway and it ushered me toward the words waiting on the other side.

Farewell Maurice Sendak. Your imagination inspired so many…and my childhood was richer for it.
